There are two ways to rotate a selected object.

1. Put the mouse pointer inside the top 'ear' of the red bounding box.

Hold down the left mouse button and drag to left or right. The outline of the bounding box rotates. Release the mouse button and the selected object jumps to its new position.

You can select several objects and rotate them all in a single operation.
