This is the view from inside a slit window high up in the keep of Richmond Castle in North Yorkshire. Even though the window faces the inside of the castle (the bailey), it is very small. There is very little danger of anyone being able to shoot in through such a small gap. You can see that the wall is very thick. Not much light can get in.
