Last night we went to 'Monks Grill' - an excellent restaurant. Although the building was very posh, and clearly was expensively appointed, the double glazed windows had aluminium frames. Since it was about -11C outside, it was extremely uncomfortable sitting in the temperature gradient next to a window.

Phil opted for the roast beef, and can confirm that there are people outside Yorkshire who can make a good yorkshire pudding.

At one point during the meal, a poltergeist took control of James's beer.

Against his better judgement, Phil was persuaded onto the mountain in spite of his dodgy foot. There was a strange temperature inversion on the mountain. At the top of the mountain, it was just below zero, but at cloud level it dropped by ten or fifteen degrees - face burningly cold! Phil managed about three hours of gentle skiing before the pain in his foot got the better of him.
