Looking East over Malham Beck towards Shorkley Hill. Notice the trees lining the course of the beck, the dry stone walls, and the sparseness of the landscape higher up.

It is also possible to see evidence of terracing of the land in strips, which was done to make the land easier to farm, and dates back to 800 AD.
