Future plansI was put on 200 mg Amiodarone when Flecainide stopped working. The Flecainide kept me AF free for 6 months, but by the 9 month mark, I was back to 5 episodes per week. So far, I am 2 months AF free with the Amiodarone. I don't know how long this will last, but I hope for a long time. Perhaps long term, I can switch between the two, and they will maintain their effacacy.
Personal commentsAll the indulgencies in life trigger me, and sometimes spontaneously starts with no trigger. Sometimes a brisk walk after a couple hours of AF can help it to convert. From what I understand, paroxismal AF is much more symptomatic than the chronic form (although I'll take it anyway over chronic). But I do get very fast rate, dizzyness, anxiety, and shortness of breath.
