Future plansI had one episode of AF after my lung surgery in 2002. This is common with chest or heart surgery. I experienced what I thought was AF in August, 2003. I went to E.R., I converted with IV medication and was put on medication for AF.

Met with Dr. Morady at University of Michigan Electrophysiology. He states I did not experience atrial fib - I was in atrial flutter. He suggested right atrium ablation to prevent it from occurring again. He took me off all medication and gave prescriptions for a "cocktail" to take if the atrial flutter occurs again - Rythmol and Inderal. Instructions are to take one tab of each, wait 3 hours, take another Inderal, wait 3 hours and repeat one tab of each. If I do not convert in 12 hours, go to E.R. I am presently only on one ASA a day. I will probably go ahead in the future with the ablation for flutter. It will probably re-occur. However,I saw Dr. Morady in November and I have not had a re-occurence
