Name | Deb M. |
---|
Location | New Hampshire,US |
---|
Age | Forty - today! |
---|
Diagnosed condition | Paroxymal Afib |
---|
Years with condition | 1 month but went to ER once 3 years ago for same symptoms |
---|
Frequency of episodes | cluster of episodes every two weeks so far |
---|
Duration of episodes | mins to 12 hrs |
---|
Event preceding first AF | resting after unusual exertion that day |
---|
General health | Fibromyalgia, anxiety attacks, high BP, no alcohol and quit smoking last week after my second trip to ER |
---|
Current state | in afib right now for third time, has happened every other weekend since Nov.30.02 |
---|
Triggers | I don't know anything for sure yet but I got on my puter looking for any connection between laying down to sleep and eating at night and afib. Those are the two things I've noticed so far. Also sitting slouched over is uncomfortable. |
---|
Preventions | Nothing yet but thank you all for the many suggestions on this site. |
---|
Current medications/side effects | Atenolol 50mg in am and 25 in pm. Fatigue is only side effect but for a bit of nausea but it only works for a couple of weeks before my doc has to raise the dose because my resting heartrate is climbing.
325mg aspirin daily. |
---|
Past medications/side effects | none |
---|
History of surgery | 3 surgeries connected with complete hysterectomy in 92,96,98. |
---|
Future plans | Learn all I can and work closely with my cardiologist who has chronic afib himself (12 years ). |
---|
Personal comments | I'm scared to death actually but feel better tonight after reading about all of you who are living with this successfully. Thanks!
Also I've read lately that Aspartame (Nutrasweet) can cause heart problems including rapid heart rate - and a bunch of other things too. Anyone got any info? |
