Current medications/side effectsToprol Xl 50mgs/day side effects laziness, fatigue
Flecanide(Tambocor)200mgs/day side effects: largely unknown as I have been on this med for only 2 weeks---but--it seems to make my afib more bearable(I can continue working during an afib episode which I could not before beginning this med) I think it lengthens the episode some though. I had a very bad experience when I increased to 300mgs per day for one day. I was awakened with bad afib in the middle of my sleep, which has never happened before. Am going down to 150mg to see if that feels better.
Ativan 1mg as needed for anxiety. I tend to let the afib scare me and it feeds on my fear and gets worse. Ativan has helped me in this regard.
Past medications/side effectsDigoxin side effects-made my condition worse by far. Yuk!
Lopressor- same as toprol above but not extended release like the Toprol.
Inderal- wiped me out completely. Near to unconcious with a pulse of 30 for a day on one dose.
Calcium Channel blocker(can't remember the name) did not help at all.

History of surgeryRF ablation of AvNodal reentry, Ablation of flutter.

2nd Ablation procedure to left side of atrium going after nasties in the pulmonary viens.
This one worked for 6 months I was back on the basketball court with no meds and starting to get into shape again. But alas, It came back and is worse than ever.
Future plans I hope to have a pulmonary vein isolation type ablation performed in the next 3 months. It seems like my only choice right now. Meds are not controlling it and I cannot live like this. I hope I can keep my job and insurance long enough to get this done.
Personal comments I hope the best for all of you suffering with this life ruining problem
