General healthexcellent, could find no cause for high blood pressure
Current statein fine health other than when afib hits
TriggersDrs have never determined a true trigger for me, but have advised me to stay away from caffeine, nicotine, any kind of stimulants.
Preventionsnone
Current medications/side effectsI am currently taking Verapamil ER 240mg, Dyrenium 100mg 2X, Potassium, Magnesium, and Baby Aspirin 81mg under Dr's direction. And I do also use St John's Wort and Vitamin E on my own, but Dr is aware of it.

No side effects. But Verapamil has in no way slowed my bpms the way they had hoped. Dyrenium has helped my high blood pressure.
Past medications/side effectsPrinivil, no side effects.
History of surgeryno real surgery, have had EP Study done though. Discovered my problem lies on the left side of my heart, not the right side, so no ablation was done at that time. They decided the procedure was too dangerous to attempt at that time.
Future plansAfter 3 attacks of afib at over 300bpm on each occasion, my cardiologist referred me to a Dr at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He has agreed that I am a good candidate for radio-frequency ablation and I will undergo that procedure as soon as he has an opening.
Personal commentsAfter reading many of the posts on the afib site, it seems like many people live with afib on a daily basis with a lower intensity. I sypathize with those people, it must be extremely uncomfortable! I guess I'd rather only have it once in a great while at higher intensity, but it is scary when it feels like your chest is going to explode!
