General health	asthmatic, kidney stone - otherwise healthy, longtime runner including hundreds of 10Ks and 7 Marathons
Current state	holding my own - able to do most things most of the time - not a pleasant condition, but not getting worse
Triggers	I wish I knew - I thought this might have developed from Asthma medication that preceeded this for two years. Eating may be related, but I can't isolate it. Sometimes a large meal may proceed it and sometimes not. Sometimes I have food with MSG and get AF shortly, but other times this doesn't happen. Same with caffeine, milk products, wheat products, alcohol, etc. Lying down and waking up also seem to aggrevate this. Maybe I have too many amalgam fillings, but my dentist has heard this theory for causing 20 serious ailments and nothing has ever been proven in a conclusive scientific study. Maybe I am low in Magnesium which is also cited as an Asthma cause, but I have never seen a conclusive set of studies on this either. Maybe...
Preventions	Beta Blockers (Lopressor) help get me back to normal rhythm, but too much also causes lite-headiness and short blackouts. Tambocor/Flecanide (Calcium Channel Blocker) seems to help too
Current medications/side effects	200mg/day Tambocor 50mg/day Lopressor
History of surgery	2 cardioversions (both helped for a short while), 1 flutter ablation
Future plans	Keep studying, talking, and learning - Trying not to dwell on the problem and get on with life. EP thinks a full ablation or MAZE is too risky and thinks my next step is a pacemaker, but I am very reluctant. My cardiologists are brilliant, sincere people who try hard but just don't have a good solution right now. Keeping busy, lots of outdoor activities, and a positive attitude also seem to help.
Personal comments	Anybody know of a convenient, reasonably priced, acurate device to measure the Afib/heart state[!] please let me know. Good luck to all who have this condition..
