| Triggers | Prolonged periods of poor sleep - initially would miss sleep for as many as 3 nights - literally, would be up and about, not tired. Never wound down. This episode - many months of 4-6 hrs with frequent waking for painkillers, due to injury, poorly teated.
No other known triggers. Highish blood pressure before first episode. |

| Current medications/side effects | Flecainide 2 x 50mgs per day, and losartin 25mgs per day. Not aware of any after-effects. Feels much better on current med than on previous. |

| Past medications/side effects | 2005: atenolol initially, followed by 4 1/2 years on sotalol. I believed sotalol caused the symptoms since I felt better off it when I twice accidentally lost my tablets for nearly a week. |

| Future plans | 6 months on Flecainide then hope to be weaned off. Consultant suggests cardioversion if further prolonged episode, and ablation if more experienced.
Will look into replacement of amalgam fillings. |

| Personal comments | Its extremely frightening, especially when you've been very fit all your life. Worst part, apart from the fear of dying, is the complete lack of control or ability to calm it down in any way. |
