Triggerscurrently on-sotalol, unsure if dosage is corect. I do not know when it happens so it is hard to even know what triggers it. Have cut out alcohol, 1 cup coffee per day, exercise constantly. I am frustrated since I cannot pinpoint any trigger and medication is not completely taking care of the problem.
PreventionsI don't know how to prevent it since I have no symtoms until I have been in afib for a period of time.
Current medications/side effectssotalol-seems to make me tired at times
ramapril-no side effects
coumadin-blood checks, level is not consistent
lexapro-no side effects
History of surgeryDec-hospitalized with afib, high blood pressure, enlarged heart (upper chambers) and low pumping function. Had the catheter test and ecc showed no blockages. Cardioversion in Jan-worked and put on sotalol. June- hospitilized for afib heart converted after higher dosage of sotolal. ECC showed heart normal and pumping function 60.
Future plansI want to get this under control so that I can live a normal life.
Personal commentsThis is the first major illness I have ever had. I want to learn as much as I can and seek the best treatment possible. It is so frustrating not to know when it happens or why. I ignored symtoms in Dec thnking I was recovering from the flu but now I know I must take my blood pressure and monitor my heartbeat to avoid further issues
