Frequency of episodes | getting worse the older I get......Last two years about 12 times |
---|
Duration of episodes | 1-5 days. Needing zapping (cardioversion)-electric shock |
---|
Event preceding first AF | NONE |
---|
General health | The heart problem is my big problem. Never know WHEN!!! |
---|
Current state | still hoping one day to be cured. Live with it daily! |
---|
Triggers | I do not smoke or drink, I do not have caffeine, I do not do anything at all to make these episodes come on. Most of the time it is at night. I am reading in bed, or watching TV or listening to music. I know the minute it starts and feel every single beat from my heart. It does a job on my confidence and I feel as though a hammer were over my head waiting to fall. |
---|
Preventions | I am on all sorts of medication and nothing helps. I have been ablated, cardioverted and waiting for something new TO CURE ME. |
---|
Current medications/side effects | ateninol, calan sr,coumadin, corderone. I am always tired and have very little strength especially in the afternoon and at night.......... |
---|
Past medications/side effects | Who remembers. Nothing has ever done it for more than a few years and the older I get the worse and more stubborn it gets. |
---|
History of surgery | 2 ablations, 6 cardioversions..... |
---|
Future plans | Try to go on with my life and not let this make me depressed but I am afraid to go away travelling or too far from my doctors and or hospital....... |
---|
Personal comments | This is a terrible thing to live with and I do not think that the medical profession is doing enough for all the millioins of people that have it, some worse than others. HELP!!!!!! |
