Duration of episodes9 mo prior: dear, youngest son 39 died paragliding accident; 2 mo prior middloe son 45 died in sleep, ? cardiac event while he had flu like sxs over counter meds, methadone, +liver, + heart
Event preceding first AF2-4 wks prior to onset, ,? Flu with lethergy, ennui, lack of energy, ?? shortness breath all thought to be Sxs of depression/grieving.
General health30 yr 0 smoking, 22 yr recovering alcoholic 0 alcohol. Active, athletic.
Current statedied March 5, 2008
TriggersGrief, flu?, overweight 40#
Preventionscurrently on Coreg 3.125 mg daily and building up coumadin for 4-5 wks to prepare for cardioversion with defibrillator.
Current medications/side effectssee above. Initial tiredness on coumadin, now no sxs, feel good more active, mod. exercise with no sxs.

History of surgeryBilateral inguinal hernias ~ 2000
R Ulnar nerve release 1985
Hepatitis B? with jaundice 1953 & full recovery

Activity- camping, hiking, biking as tolerated.
Personal commentsAppreciate any thoughts, suggestions, especially re: the possible role of viral infection, a/o emotional stress triggering sxs in previously assymptomatic AF.
